Cushions, Foam and Support
Seat cushions may use upholstery foam in several comfort levels, foam wrapped with Dacron or a down-envelope construction for a softer appearance. Back cushions may use foam, Microloft or down depending on the shape and desired support. The deck, webbing, springs and cushion dimensions also affect comfort, so the same foam can feel different from one sofa to another.
When existing cushion covers remain usable, replacement inserts may be available without reupholstering the entire piece. When cushions are attached, access and construction are reviewed before the repair method is confirmed.
Fabric and Project Planning
Options may include textured upholstery fabrics, performance materials, velvet, leather or vinyl. Pattern repeats, stripes, nap and matching requirements can increase yardage. Client-provided fabric must be suitable for upholstery and for the intended use; the client remains responsible for the quality and performance of material purchased elsewhere.
